Here at House of Coco, we are on a mission to find London’s hotspots for the best brunches – we’re keen to find different restaurants offering inventive menus. We recently had the opportunity to review Canary Wharf’s contemporary French bistro, Plateau Restaurant, Bar & Grill. We’ve got to be honest, here at #TeamCoco, Canary Wharf isn’t the obvious spot that we’d usually hit for a bottomless brunch in east London, however Plateau’s new ‘big brunch brass party’ is totally worth it. Set up high in Canada Square, Plateau is a stylish and contemporary restaurant with panoramic views of London – the perfect place to enjoy the weekend over a few glasses of bubbly and delicious brunch food.

Rather excitingly, Plateau has been collaborating with Old Dirty Brasstards to bring a ten-piece drum ‘n’ brass bottomless brunch party to London. The band has played the likes of Glastonbury, Latitude, Secret Garden Party and Bestival, and are coming to Plateau every fortnight throughout summer. Whilst we were there, the band played twice, and in that time got everyone up and grooving their weekends away. Playing current pop with a twist, old Motown bangers, and jazz; the band was a fantastic addition to delicious food and a prosecco-fuelled afternoon.

The menu at Plateau is innovative and varied – the head chef, Jeremy Trehout, has created a menu with those classic breakfast dishes that we all love, but with an imaginative twist. We enjoyed the scrambled eggs on toast with spicy crab, and then the big Brass burger with a Portobello mushroom, fried egg, black pudding and camembert (just a small brunch for us a #TeamCoco…). For those of you who would prefer slightly lighter dishes, these can also be enjoyed and include; an all green omelette with tender lettuce, Caesar salad and pan-fried salmon. There are also a few show-stopping desserts which include a mango panna cotta, sticky toffee pudding and the ‘cornet-o’ with red velvet cream.

If you are around east London this summer, we would recommend hitting Plateau – you won’t be disappointed by the food, the prosecco, and certainly not the music.

Guests can enjoy two courses plus bottomless prosecco or rosé wine for £48 per person with panoramic views over Canary Wharf. A brassy twist on delicious brunch cocktails can also be enjoyed including the ‘Brassy Mary’, ‘Old Dirty Bramble’ and the ‘Saxo-Tini’ all made with Ketel One vodka.
