We delve deep into the world of Strung Pretty, a unique bespoke chain design brand that has elevated the wearing of face masks, sunglasses, and necklaces to another level! Let us introduce you to Faith and Stephanie.

Tell us about the journey that lead you to launching your brand Strung Pretty…

Faith and Stephanie are both American expats who met on the high street in St. John’s Wood in 2019. After that chance encounter we became instant friends. Not long after we met, Covid happened and things slowly started changing in London and around the world. The winter months were upon us and we really felt a sense of loss. People were now required to wear masks when leaving the house and we wanted to turn the feeling of being covered up and lost (on so many levels) into something beautiful. That is when we decided to launch our brand Strung Pretty. At first, we designed our chains to look like high end jewellry, while also serving as a place to hang your mask when not in use. As things begin to normalise we expanded by modifying our chains so they could also be used with your eyewear or worn as a necklace. We are so proud to have created the perfect accessory for the stylish woman on the go. For travel, you can wear your chain on the airplane to hold your mask while you have a sip of champagne or bite to eat, then attach them to your sunnies while on the beach, finally you can wear your chain as a necklace out to dinner. Strung Pretty chains are incredibly versatile pieces that keep your items safe and you stylish at the same time.

What has been the biggest learning curve since launching the business?

We have learned SO much since starting this business. Stephanie and I do it all. We learned how to build a website, make marketing materials, create and design jewellry, and learn how to use Instagram as a business tool. Each day is a chance for us to learn something new or reevaluate what isn’t working. We had a vision and dream and went for it!

With two founders, your story of how you met is so fun and inspiring, who’s involved in the brand and what roles do they play?

Both of us are equally involved in the brand, we ask each other for advice and always make sure what we put out there is how we want our brand represented. We both have similar visions and that has been very helpful. It’s a lot of communication and compromise, we both have our strengths and weaknesses and really balance each other out.

What advice would you offer to anyone wanting to become an entrepreneur?

Find a network of other entrepreneurs to help support you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and learn from others who have been successful. You will have hard days and you will make mistakes, but that’s the beauty of it…you live, you learn, you grow.

Looking back since launching the brand, is there anything you would do differently?

We don’t believe in doing anything differently. Each part of our successes and mistakes have honestly made us stronger. I know that sounds cliche, but it’s true!

Talk us through an average day in your life…

We wake up and have an early morning conference about our day ahead. Then we delegate who will handle each item on our to do list. Our days vary widely, but most days consist or fulfilling orders, creating content for our social media platforms and making connections through forming relationships to grow our business.

How much has social media played a role in the success of your brand?

Social media has played an enormous roll in the success of our brand. We have been contacted by businesses and boutiques who have seen our collection online. It has also been a place for us to connect and support other brands. Through social media we also have connected with our clients, it gives them a chance to know about not only our brand but the faces behind the brand too.

Our readers love to travel, what destination is at the top of your bucket list?

We are both booked and hoping to fly to Greece this Summer with our families and stay at the Blue Palace Hotel. We are so excited to explore this magical place.

What is your go to quote when lacking motivation?

“When you least expect it, something great will come along. Something better than you ever planned for”.

What does self care mean to you?

We are both mums with primary school aged kids. It is important to take care of yourself while growing your business. Faith enjoys reading at the end of the day to relax and get lost in a good book. Currently, she is reading The Sunflower Sisters by Martha Hall Kelly. Stephanie enjoys doing yoga, taking her dogs for long walks and riding the Peloton. She loves to be active to destress and spend time outdoors.

What’s next for the business?

We are always thinking of ways to grow and expand our business while staying true to our brand and aesthetic Our latest collection – Jetset Gems – is a special limited edition collection inspired by two of our favorite things: gemstones and travel. Each piece is designed to wear with your sunnies (or spectacles!) and then transform into jewelry that can be worn day or night. This collection is filled with gemstones and other sparkles that are so gorgeous you will never want to take them off!

Additionally, as mentioned before we are both mums and are looking into expanding our children’s line. Our rainbow sherbet chain has been highly successful with its splash proof design that is both colorful and durable. The perfect accessory or gift for your mini fashionista.
