The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is one of the prettiest areas in all of the UK and ideal for a road trip because you get to see the picture-perfect English countryside along with a handful of charming small villages. This is a great place for a holiday because you can enjoy long walks out in nature, afternoons in traditional English pubs and relaxing in an idyllic cottage.
Norfolk Coast
If you like to be by the sea on your holidays, then you have a few good options in the UK, including Norfolk coast on the eastern coastline. This is an incredibly peaceful and tranquil part of the world where you can explore the beautiful coastline and surrounding nature, plus you can also visit via Norwich, which is a lovely city with stunning architecture.
The Lake District

North Wales
North Wales features dramatic, rugged natural beauty with plenty to explore on a road trip. This will include driving through the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park (be sure to stop off and explore) across the Menai Strait and through to Anglesey. This is an area that is sometimes overlooked by holidaymakers which is a shame, but it also makes it somewhat of a hidden gem which any nature lover will enjoy driving through.
North Coast 500
The iconic North Coast 500 route will show the incredible natural beauty that the north coast of Scotland has to offer. This epic 516-mile route starts and ends at Inverness Castle and links many of the incredible features found in the dramatic north Highlands, such as Black Isle, John O’Groats and the Applecross Peninsula. There is not a huge amount of accommodation along the way so be sure to book in advance!
The West Country is another beautiful part of the UK with beautiful natural scenery and a range of cool, pretty and interesting towns and cities. Somerset is one fate best places for a road trip with the Cheddar Gorge being one of the main highlights – this is a beautiful limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills with imposing cliff faces on both sides that make for a dramatic, winding drive.

A road trip is quite different to any other type of vacation, so it is helpful if you know how to make the most out of these experiences.
