There is nothing quite like a road trip as this can be a terrific way to explore and there is something exhilarating about hitting the open road and heading to somewhere new and exciting. The UK had many brilliant road trip locations to consider which will show you the great beauty and diversity of the UK along the way – here are a few of the best destinations to consider. And for those who prefer the city life that London offers, there are tons of Cheap Entertainment In London to check out.

The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is one of the prettiest areas in all of the UK and ideal for a road trip because you get to see the picture-perfect English countryside along with a handful of charming small villages. This is a great place for a holiday because you can enjoy long walks out in nature, afternoons in traditional English pubs and relaxing in an idyllic cottage.
Norfolk Coast
If you like to be by the sea on your holidays, then you have a few good options in the UK, including Norfolk coast on the eastern coastline. This is an incredibly peaceful and tranquil part of the world where you can explore the beautiful coastline and surrounding nature, plus you can also visit via Norwich, which is a lovely city with stunning architecture.
The Lake District
Nature lovers will adore the Lake District which is one of the most beautiful areas in the entire world and somewhere with mountains, forests, lakes, coastline, villages and towns so there is a tremendous amount to explore here. There are lots of good routes for a road trip here where you will be treated to mesmerizing views of the natural beauty on offer.
North Wales
North Wales features dramatic, rugged natural beauty with plenty to explore on a road trip. This will include driving through the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park (be sure to stop off and explore) across the Menai Strait and through to Anglesey. This is an area that is sometimes overlooked by holidaymakers which is a shame, but it also makes it somewhat of a hidden gem which any nature lover will enjoy driving through.
North Coast 500
The iconic North Coast 500 route will show the incredible natural beauty that the north coast of Scotland has to offer. This epic 516-mile route starts and ends at Inverness Castle and links many of the incredible features found in the dramatic north Highlands, such as Black Isle, John O’Groats and the Applecross Peninsula. There is not a huge amount of accommodation along the way so be sure to book in advance!
Somerset
The West Country is another beautiful part of the UK with beautiful natural scenery and a range of cool, pretty and interesting towns and cities. Somerset is one fate best places for a road trip with the Cheddar Gorge being one of the main highlights – this is a beautiful limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills with imposing cliff faces on both sides that make for a dramatic, winding drive.
Road Trip Tips
A road trip is quite different to any other type of vacation, so it is helpful if you know how to make the most out of these experiences. First, you need to make sure that you have a car that is up to the task as road trips can be demanding – this means that you might want to arrange a lease from somewhere like ZenAuto.
It is also important that you carefully plan the trip, including bookings into any hotels so that you always know where you need to get to. You should also be sure to take regular breaks and take turns driving if you are with others that can drive (but make sure that everyone is covered).
The UK has many brilliant locations for a road trip with these being just a few that you will show you the great beauty on offer throughout the UK.
