#CocoMen : The Latest Golf Fashion from the 2017 Open Championship

While the main interest for any golf fan at the 2017 Open Championship is the play itself, there is always a side order of curiosity to see what the top players are wearing.  With their sponsorship deals, players such as defending champion Henrik Stenson and Rickie Fowler always get the best new ranges from their partners first.  So what were the top players wearing on the course during the four days and what inspiration can we all take for our next golf clothing purchase?

Henrik Stenson and Hugo Boss

Henrik Stenson revealed his clothing from the Hugo Boss ranges in the lead up to the big event.  As the defending champion, there was a lot of attention on the Swede both for his gameplay but also a look at his golf clothing.  This sponsorship tied in with the first time that Hugo Boss had been the official outfitters of the Open Championships, a five-year deal that will see the brand provide clothing for all officials and staff as well as their golfer partners.

For his Thursday range, Stenson wore the Prek Pro Nightwatch golf shirt paired with the Zadok Pro jumper in the Surf the Web colourway.  These are paired with the Hakan 9-1 gold trousers also in nightwatch.  His Friday range swapped the trousers from the dark blue to white and paired it with a Paddy Pro 4 shirt in a rich Port Royale shade.  Over the top, he wore a Zymor Pro golf jumper with a bold colorblock style in nightwatch blue and grey.

Saturday’s range was all about the nightwatch blue that is always a popular shade.  The Paddy Pro 4 short has a distinctive band of colour across the upper chest and was paired once again with the Hakan 9-1 trousers.  Stenson switched from jumper to jacket and wore the Jalmstad Pro golf jacket.  Finally, the Sunday range was about shades of black and grey.  The Hakan 9-1 trousers in black were paired with the Prek Pro shirt in grey melange and the Zadok Pro jumper in the same shade.

Rickie Fowler and Puma

Rickie Fowler displayed the very latest in golf clothing technology in the new Evoknit kit from Puma.  The technical knit fabric uses a seamless construction that makes for minimal restriction when being worn and offers excellent moisture control while always being comfortable.  The shirts are also very stylish and available in four different colours – lapis blue, peacoat, quarry and black.  Rickie demonstrated the colours, wearing one on each day of the event.

The new shirts were paired with the Tailored Tech Pant, the classic Puma golf trousers.  The pants have a tailored fit and added stretch to allow the best natural movement when playing.  The dryCELL technology helps to keep the player dry and comfortable while the gripper waistband tape ensures the best possible fit and prevents the pants riding upwards.  They are also available in a range of colours including white, risk red, peacoat, French blue and quarry, a soft grey shade.
