Hard Rock International, the iconic music-inspired brand, will open its first hotel in Europe in May 2014 on the island of Ibiza and it is set to include the world’s most expensive restaurant – at a whopping £1,235 a head.
The Hard Rock Hotel, opening in Playa d’en Bossa on 18 May, will be home to the Sublimotion restaurant, which will offer a 20-course meal on its menu.
According to the Daily Mail, Michelin-starred chef Paco Roncero is behind the luxury resort’s concept, which aims to take 12 guests at a time on a “an experience for all the senses”.
“The dishes will cause a stir among the most neglected senses; from moments of humour, pleasure, fear, reflection and nostalgia, diners will be wandering through a world of sensations from the North Pole where they will enjoy a cold snack that they carve on their own iceberg or to the baroque Versailles where the elegance of a rose is sure to melt in their palate.”
The hotel on the Mediterranean island will offer more than 480 rooms, 235 suites, a spa, fitness center, 8,600 square feet of meeting space, and the company’s world-famous shop. It will also include a kids club, teen venue, private suite “swim-out” pools, two pools and a main outdoor pool stage for up to 2,500 guests.
