Can you tell us about your journey from studying piano to pursuing a Master’s in performing arts and then branching out into psychology and visual arts? What inspired these diverse interests?
My journey began with a passion for music, but my curiosity extended beyond it. I explored German Studies, Musicology, and Psychology, finding connections between language, culture, history, and the human mind. This diverse background has shaped my artistic identity.
Your work spans various artistic disciplines. How do you find harmony at the intersection of these different forms of expression?
My artistic journey is a harmonious exploration. Music provides a foundation in melody and harmony, while literature adds storytelling and symbolism. Psychology infuses my work with emotional depth, and digital media allows me to blend these elements seamlessly.
Looking ahead, what are you excited about pursuing?
I’m excited to integrate multimedia elements into my work, combining visual art with music composition and exploring experimental video art. I aim to further develop my project “Weltgeschichte” into a “Poema con moto” and push boundaries in the digital realm.
Could you share some insights into your creative process when working on projects like “Poema con moto” and “Keywords”?
These projects involve a collaborative and iterative creative process. “Poema con moto” blends poetry with motion, creating a dialogue between visual art, music, and literature. “Keywords” explores the power of language and its visual representation. Both projects are about blurring the boundaries between disciplines and creating immersive experiences.
Your paintings have evolved into an independent branch of your art creation. What themes do you often explore?
My paintings explore emotions, nature, and memory. I strive to capture the nuances of human feelings and evoke a sense of wonder through natural forms. I also explore the ephemeral nature of memories using abstract and symbolic forms.
Winning prizes in both piano and literature competitions is a remarkable achievement. How do these accolades influence your creative work?
Winning prizes has reinforced my commitment to musical expression and storytelling. They’ve encouraged a cross-disciplinary approach, integrating themes and emotions across different mediums.
Could you share some of your favorite moments or experiences from readings on SWR radio? How does performing your literary work differ from performing music?
Reading on SWR radio was a new challenge. Unlike playing the piano, where emotions are conveyed through music, reading aloud requires direct engagement with the audience. It was a nerve-wracking but rewarding experience.
In the digital realm, what are some of the challenges and exciting possibilities you’ve encountered?
Digital art offers endless possibilities for experimentation and transformation. I can blend and merge existing artworks, exploring new creative dimensions. The challenge lies in finding a balance between technology and artistic expression.
As a writer of poems and short stories, what themes do you often explore?
I explore themes of love, loss, time, identity, and human relationships. My writings connect with my other artistic pursuits by sharing similar emotions and imagery.
Many artists find inspiration in their daily lives. Can you share some everyday experiences or observations that have sparked your creativity?
My art reflects on war, inhumanity, and feminist perspectives. I’m driven by a need to articulate inner conflicts and observations about the world. Humor also plays a significant role, offering a refreshing perspective.
Collaboration seems to be a recurring theme in your work. How do you approach collaborations?
I’ve collaborated extensively with musicians and am excited to explore new collaborations with artists from different disciplines. I envision projects that combine music, visual art, and performance.
Living in different countries has influenced your artistic perspective. How?
Living in Germany and Switzerland has exposed me to diverse cultural influences. The German emphasis on precision and the Swiss focus on craftsmanship have shaped my artistic approach.
Your interest in the “art” of the human soul led you to study psychology. How has this field informed your artistic endeavors?
Studying psychology has given me a deeper understanding of human emotions and behaviors. This allows me to create art that resonates with viewers on an emotional level.
Looking ahead, what future projects or artistic goals are you excited about pursuing?
I aim to organize solo exhibitions, secure placements in renowned museums, and exhibit my “Poema con Moto” project at Art Basel Unlimited. I’m eager to collaborate with leading galleries and continue exploring new artistic avenues.
