Timeless never gets old – Dawn O’Porter to launch a new vintage fashion website

Launching in October 2014, BOB by Dawn O’Porter is a collection of new designs inspired by the best vintage shapes.

Dawn O’Porter is currently presenting the Channel 4 series ‘This Old Thing’ and has wanted a vintage business for a long time and is thrilled to announce the launch of her new vintage fashion website – BOB!

So often with vintage clothing you won’t find the size you want, so Dawn has taken some of the most iconic shapes of yesteryear and recreated them in a range of sizes so that more people can enjoy styles from the past.

Dawn says;

I’ve worked extra hard to make sure everything is wearable. I have wanted a vintage business for as long as I can remember, but I am glad I waited. I’ve learned so much over the past ten years. So much about quality, shape and how to spot what truly is vintage and what isn’t,

Dawn is currently involved with the hit Channel 4 series ‘This Old Thing’, she continues;

I’ve learned what works on people’s bodies. This Old Thing was great for that – I got to dress people up, which meant I learned a lot about how something on the hanger will probably look on a body.

That is where a lot of vintage can go wrong, and what puts people off, so much of it feels unwearable

When buying for Bob, I only buy pieces that I know will work when worn. And that is where a lot of vintage can go wrong, and what puts people off, so much of it feels unwearable. But most shops buy really well, so it’s worth it to trust the stock and just try it on. As we are just online, I’ve worked extra hard to make sure everything is wearable.

Dawn has been working on BOB solidly for a year.  “Bob is my project! I have a very small team so I am heavily involved. I do the tweets. I write the copy for the website, I do the shoots and buy or approve every item. It’s my baby, and I am all over it like a rash. I want to keep it that way, and I guess that will be the challenge if we grow. But for now, I live and breathe it, and I love every second.”
