You don’t need to ask me twice about Thailand – throw in luxury, my bags are already packed.
I was given the pleasure to be one of the first to stay at the new and exciting Twinpalms Bangtao Phuket Tented resort – but don’t let the word tent fool you – this resort is nothing short of supreme luxury which is beautifully tied with the element of raw adventure.

Old Hollywood Vibes
Le me set the scene – stepping into the Twinpalms Luxury Tent Resort in Bangtao felt like wandering onto the set of a grand 1940s adventure film, perhaps something starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, where romance and intrigue unfold beneath swaying palms. The canvas-draped suites, with their rich wood furnishings and billowing curtains, seemed fit for Clark Gables next great expedition, while the jungle-meets-luxury atmosphere evoked the spirit of The African Queen. A hotel which instantly makes you feel calm and collected, which evokes peace and tranquility is a winner from me – my phone looks out of place and it is barely touched the whole time, because I don’t want to miss a single moment.

The 28 adult-only glamping tents that are exquisitely nestled around a beautiful lagoon are steps away from Bangtao beach and joins its sister resort Twinpalms Surin which opened its doors 20 years ago. This chic new resort maintains its level of high end luxury like its predecessors. Every corner is a picture worthy moment. The serene surroundings makes me want to take up journaling or curl up on the outdoor seating to read a good book. The bird song and sounds of the wonderful nature is like a piece of classical music echoing around you and if you listen carefully you can hear the magnificent waves of the sea. Whoever found this location to build on was a genius – because it comes with its’ own timeless soundtrack.

Good to book? Here’s some points to consider:
- Super chic and devine tents that marry a modern day safari edge with a 1940s movie scene.
- Luxurious touches such as bathroom essential, a beautiful mini bar, divine coffee products and rainfall showers.
- Easy access to Bangtao beach, where you can witness the most unreal sunrises and sunsets whilst sipping on your favourite cocktail.
- As a guest at Twinpalms Bangtao – you have full access to Twinpalms portfolio hotels and their amenities, including Twinpalms MontAzure and Twinpalms Surin.

Martin Palleros, founder of Tierra Design, is the visionary behind the concept. They say it’s all in the details – and the Twinpalms, have not left a page unturned – everything is considered, from plush towels to ready to dive in bedding. 16 of the 24 tents boast their own private pools which at night are so sensually lit – you will not want to leave!

Delectable delights at Twinpalms
Food isn’t available on the hotel grounds, however I don’t see that as an issue – there’s a danger when it comes to hotels of this calibre that you develop a straight from the airport to the hotel mentality and you actually never explore the surrounding areas. That’s not the case at Twinpalms – being a guest at Twinpalms you can access the entire Twinpalms portfolio via an easily accessible shuttle service between each hotel. You also have access to a complimentary buggy service straight across to Catch Beach Club – or if you wish to walk it will only take you 3 minutes. And it’s here you will be able to try their famous Sunday brunch – and directly next door you have the Lazy Coconut where the champagne flows and the cocktails are moreish – you’ll be spoilt for choice.

For an upscale sophisticated experience head across to Twinpalms Surin for a unforgettable dining experience at Wagyu Steakhouse – where meats are so exclusively picked and knives are carefully selected that every morsel of food that enters your mouth is like an exclusive invitation to a party no-one knows about.

Other activities which guests have access to include sunrise meditation, mango tasting, yoga and campfire gatherings. You can also book a yachting adventure via Andaman Cruises – day trips include Koh Phi Phi and Ko Racha Yai, and the sites that you pass are beautifully stunning.

Eco-Friendly Footprint
The Twinpalms brand take sustainability incredibly seriously and they pride themselves on providing as many eco friendly alternatives that reduce plastic usage and waste. And this is refreshing to see. They encourage you to be mindful on usage and the importance on minimising waste. And today that is important and here at House of Coco we love that! save for the future, so places like this are loved today and tomorrow.

I have spent nearly a week at the Twinpalms resorts, I have witnessed the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets – some rendered me speechless. I feel incredibly lucky to have been a small part of this opening. My experience of Thailand has been perfection. I have a tendency of never coming back to the same place twice – but the Twinpalms feels like an unfinished series of love letters – there’s still so much I want to see – still so much I want to say. I promise myself as I watch the last sun rise and as I feel the grains of sand between my toes – I’ll be back, Twinpalms – you got me.

Overall the Twinpalms is a magical experience. It transports you back to a time of an old vintage adventure film. Everything is so throughly thought about and the staff are exceptional! I came feeling anxious and I left feeling absolutely invigorated. The morning meditation on the beach and divine food has fed my soul uncontrollably! I am so grateful for the cooking class that was offered to me because now I have a little piece of Thailand that will be with me forever.
