Getting the gang together is always a bit of a mission. Hotels scatter you across floors and rooms, leaving everyone slightly disconnected. Renting a property fixes that, but too often you trade comfort for space.
Introducing Ty Penbryn!
Enter Ty Penbryn, a jaw-droppingly beautiful Georgian mansion in the Welsh countryside that somehow manages to have it all: space, style, history, and every luxury you could want for a truly memorable escape.

Once home to poet Sir Lewis Morris, Ty Penbryn is a glorious manor that has been transformed into a spacious, stylish retreat that blends old-world charm with modern indulgence.
A great place to stay for groups
With room for up to 24 guests, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, cinema, games and music rooms, plus beautifully landscaped gardens, it is the ultimate playground for family gatherings, friends’ weekends, or even corporate escapes with a twist.

Ty Penbryn keeps its timeless character, with original features lovingly restored and reused, while owners Ben and Hannah have added modern touches such as underfloor heating and a wellness suite complete with pool, sauna, and steam room.
Every room has its own personality. Furniture comes from local antiques and second-hand markets, from a deep-blue bedroom with gold accents and peacock lamps to a striped suite with a carved Indian four-poster bed and mirrored pieces that feel straight out of a quirky boutique hotel.

Wellness, music and movies at Ty Penbryn
The leisure wing is a hit with all ages. The 12-metre indoor pool has a shallow beach step for little ones, while heated loungers, sauna, steam room, and six-person Jacuzzi make it a grown-up haven. Upstairs, a family area with ping pong, a large TV, and cosy sofas is perfect for movie nights or friendly competitions.

Food and fun are equally impressive. The dining room seats 24, backed by a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor pizza oven for alfresco meals. There is a game room for board games and poker, a music room with piano, harp, drums and a brightly-hued collection of ukuleles, and a billiard room with pool table and decorative fireplace. The entrance hall comes with a jukebox, karaoke system, and disco ball ready for impromptu dancing.

Movie lovers will be thrilled with the 100-inch Smart TV in the cinema room, complete with comfy sofas and bean bags for ultimate chill time. Outside, a children’s play area and basketball court make sure everyone from toddlers to grandparents can have fun. Furry friends are welcome too, with up to two dogs allowed for a small additional charge.

A curated stay at Ty Penbryn
With Finest Retreats on hand, Ty Penbryn is more than a stay, it is an experience. You can arrange murder mystery evenings, local wine tastings, or bespoke catering. We tried it ourselves, channelled our inner Poirot, and took part in a hilarious murder mystery with local actors, trying to work out who did it and why.

Dinner, catered by local business Strawberry Shortcake, was exceptional. Chef Scott, with Michelin-starred experience, served a stunning steak dish that impressed just as much at breakfast.
For those who prefer to cook, Ty Penbryn has two kitchens, plenty of storage, a barbecue, pizza oven, and two large dining areas, one even featuring a dinner-ready gong. The outdoor seating area is perfect for a morning coffee while soaking up panoramic views. The added touch of a large cinema was so nice, and after enjoying the wellness facilities, the gang trooped upstairs to watch the nineties classic ‘Sliding Doors’

Ty Penbryn is not just a house to stay in; it is a destination. Whether you are after relaxation, adventure, or simply time with friends and family, this Welsh wonder delivers it all in style.
From £5,688 a week, it might sound lavish, but divide it between 24 guests and it works out at just £237 each for a full week in one of Wales’ most spectacular country retreats. It is one of those rare places where everyone can be spoiled silly – and you might already be planning your next visit before you have even unpacked your bags.
