Victoria and Albert Museum’s “Shoes: Pleasure and Pain” Exhibition

Award-winning, London based Architect and Designer Julian Hakes is proud to announce his signature, 3D printed Mojito shoe is  included in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s “Shoes: Pleasure and Pain” Exhibition, taking place 13th June 2015 – 31st January 2016.

The exhibition looks at the extremes of footwear from around the globe, presenting around 200 pairs of shoes ranging from a sandal decorated in pure gold leaf originating from ancient Egypt to the most elaborate designs by contemporary makers. It considers the cultural significance and transformative capacity of shoes and examines the latest developments in footwear technology creating the possibility of ever higher heels and dramatic shapes.

Julian Hakes’ Mojito shoe collections have been widely recognised across the globe. The Mojito has been awarded the prestigious Drapers award for “Best footwear designer of the year 2012”.

Following the exhibition, the Mojito will become part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s permanent collection.
