Wake up Here : Capella Bangkok, opening Soon

Bangkok is, if not yet hip, then certainly on the cusp of hip. A hip Bangkok would be only the latest in a series of reincarnations this Buddhist city has undergone in the space of a few decades. Over the last 30 years, it has tripled in population and metamorphosed into a plugged-in metropolis.

The latest in a wave of new openings, Capella Bangkok will launch on October 1st on the Chao Praya Estate in the Charoenkrung district, an area experiencing a ‘rebirth’ triggered by an explosive culinary movement.

While elongated barges idle by laden with rice and sugar from Thailand’s agricultural heartlands and with Bangkok’s first paved thoroughfare, Charoenkrung Road, marking its entrance, Capella Bangkok is privileged to intersect these two landmarks and pay tribute to the re-emergence of the Charoenkrung district. It is here where for decades settlers and traders docked, creating a convergence of race, religion and cuisine, a character retained today. Staying at the property will be like having a box-seat to the living history of Bangkok’s heritage quarter.

Words don’t do this soon to open hotel justice but this video and photo gallery will be enough to entice you to book a flight and be one of the first guests to experience what is guaranteed to be a hotel that will go down in history…
