Award-winning Director Lauren Greenfield asks adults what it looks like to; run like a girl, fight like a girl and throw like a girl! The poignant moment comes when the same ‘like a girl’ questions are posed to younger girls, their grit and determination is clear to see.
The brand say on their website;
“We’re kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.”
This video has received both positive and some negative comments. However, let’s come back to the aim they have stated on the website (quoted above)… if this campaign helps girls to keep their confidence and make them feel awesome and can help others change their thinking about what it means to act ‘like a girl’, then surely they are doing a good thing?
I am totally in favour of this new viral video and I’m cheering Always on to make ‘like a girl’ mean AMAZING things! Like my mum always told me…
“JUST BE YOU! BE GREAT! TRY YOUR BEST – YOU CAN DO IT!”
