As I write this we have just entered the fourth month March. March is known for many things like Spring lambs and daylight savings time. It is also a good month to try new things. So, here are 10 things you should definitely try this month.

  1. Take up Knitting

Knitting is a great pastime and has survived for hundreds of years. It first started in the 5th century and has spread far and wide since then- with scarves, socks and woolly jumpers being made all around the world.

Knitting is also a very cheap hobby, with the only precursors being two knitting needles and a ball of string. And maybe some practise. But you can be assured that taking up knitting will definitely provide you firstly with a challenge and secondly with something to do.

  1. Become a Baker

Baking is another of those classic pastimes that is still carried on today. With baking the opportunities are endless- with different types of breads, cakes and biscuits all at the click of a button, there has never been an easier time to bake.

All you need to do is order the ingredients online, find yourself a cookbook and start baking. And the magic with baking is that you can literally make a different thing every day of the week. So why not take up the culinary arts today.

  1. Take up Bingo

Bingo is a brilliant game made entirely out of luck. It used to be played in giant halls but now, technology has moved on and we have a wealth of online Bingo sites at our disposal. Simply look at the various bingo options online and you will find a host of platforms offering bets for as little as one penny. So why don’t you head on down to a Bingo site and have some fun- it will definitely keep you entertained.

  1. Write a Story

Everyone has a creative spirit, so why don’t you unlock yours and start writing a story. It can be about whatever you want, set in any land you can think of and can last as long as you can write it. Writing is endless and will unlock a world of fun and adventure.

Once again the only thing you need for this activity is a computer or, you can go old fashioned and use pen and paper. But however you do it, you will be sure to have fun while you do it.

  1. Start Regular Walks

Walking could be an excellent component of a healthy lifestyle. It does not matter where you live- whether it is city or countryside, just as long as you walk somewhere. You can walk in the woods, around parks or even to the shops and back it really does not matter. So find some comfortable shoes and some comfortable clothes and get out into the great outdoors- you will not regret it.

  1. Take up Blogging

As the internet has grown and grown, people have found new ways to communicate and talk to each other. One of these ways is via a blog. Now, there are a huge number of blogs out there- ranging from sports science to storytelling blogs. All you need to do is to find a niche that works for you and post regular updates on it. It does not matter if you are writing for thousands or for your mum- just give it a go and it will soon become your latest hobby.

  1. Start Reading Again

Reading is the type of activity that everyone used to do and now cannot find the time to. However, reading is hugely beneficial to you and will provide some much needed stimulus to keep your brain working. You can start as small as you like or as big as you like. You can read whatever genre; whether that be science fiction, science fact or even a chic-flic. Just start reading and your brain will thank you for it.

  1. Take up Gardening

Contrary to popular belief, gardening can be done even if you do not have a garden. Just a little flower pot on the balcony of a flat counts as gardening to me. So, if you have a garden or not, find yourself a trowel, some compost and some plants and get planting. Plant flowers, tomatoes, potatoes, whatever you can think of.

If you have a lawn, then keep it nice and tidy- mow it often and maybe even create some cool pattern with it. The possibilities are endless.

That brings us to the end of this piece- check out my other content for some more interesting reads. And if you tried any of these then let me know- I would love to hear from you.
