What’s In My Festival Makeup Bag… By The Professional Artist!

So it’s come to that time of year in 2014 when the most important summer entertainment event is taking place (nooo – not the World Cup!) …

It’s my first year visiting this festival, although I have previously been to many others, and as I leave late this evening to commence the 4 hour journey (plus approx an extra 5 hours of car queuing time!) to the festival site, Ive started to pack my life for the next 5 days into one small rucksack. As a makeup artist, beauty is extremely important to me and even if I get muddy and wet, run out of underwear, or have a complete tent disaster, at least my face will be on point!

Here is my makeup bag and what I have packed for Glastonbury to keep my makeup looking fresh and stay-put all day (and night!) long…

Left to Right

1. Maybelline ‘Fit Me!’ Compact Powder in 315 soft honey

Perfect for retouching on the go with its small sponge and setting makeup for longevity.

2. Jemma Kidd Eyelash Curlers

Eyelashes are my main priority with my everyday makeup and that does not change just because I’m living in a field! These curlers make sure I have big fluttery lashes every day.

3. Iman Bronzing Powder in Afterglow

This is a 2-in-1 product with blush and bronzer that’s perfect for all skin tones for a sun kissed glow. Just sweep a large kabuki brush over the palette for a soft finish or a smaller blusher brush to apply the individual tones to the cheeks.

4. MAC Antonio Lopez Lips in Fuchsia

I love this lip palette with some of MAC’s most daring lip colours. Its perfect for Glastonbury as it allows you to change your look at a moment’s notice without taking up handbag space. My personal favourite is the bright pink Candy Yum Yum.

5. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Contructivist

These cream to matt eyeshadows are the best for long wear and density… they are a makeup artist secret staple! No need to powder on top, they are that strong in colour! I love this dark metallic brown and also… my no.6…

6. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork

This is an everyday contour shade to give the eyes definition and shape. Perfect for a natural barely there look.

7. Lancôme Bi-Facial Eye Makeup Remover

THE absolute best remover for eye makeup there is. It will take it all off in one sweep, especially useful when you aren’t close by to a sink or running water. I use this small travel size to save space.

8. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette

New to my makeup kit but I cannot live without it! This product is perfect for contouring the cheeks, nose, jaw with its mushroomy, taupe shade for a natural shape. Along with the golden highlight, it keep’s my makeup looking fresh and natural everyday!

9. MAC Fluidline Blacktrack Liner

This gel liner is long lasting and smudge proof, great for if you get hot and sweaty from dancing and if the weather is a little wet.

10. Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen Mascara

The ultimate luxury mascara with its decadent packaging. I might be living in a muddy tent but I can still have my little luxuries!

11. Topshop Matte Nails in Whisper

I love this modern take on a baby blue. A beautiful summer shade!

And for when I fancy a bit of festival glitter…

12. Barry M Nail Paint in Magenta

13. MAC Extended Play Lash

For big bouncy bottom lashes. The brush is so tiny but perfect for small, fine hairs making the most of your eyes.

14. MAC Brow Powder in Concrete

I love a strong defined brow and powder lasts so much longer in heat if your face becomes oily.

15. MAC Cover-up Concealer in NC20

Really long lasting for covering up those late nights!

16. Lancôme Hydrazen Moisturiser

This is a light cream that’s perfect under makeup but also contains the all important SPF factor!

17. Lancôme La Base Primer

I use this primer to keep my base lasting all day and to stay shine free.

18. Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation

This is my fail safe foundation for fresh, dewy skin.

Happy festival times my fellow campers!
