Question Time

Q. Which makeup brands do you predominantly use on your clients, and why?

NARS / Lancome – Their foundations remain my favourite
OPV/Viseart – Best pigmented eyeshadows
Dose of colour – Best Nude Matte lipsticks
Fenty Beauty – I love their bronzers and lip-glosses

Q. Do you have a ‘go to’ makeup brand for the makeup you wear, and if so, which one?

I’m constantly testing out new makeup on myself so this changes as quite frequently.

Q. What are the key products that you always have in your makeup bag, the ones that an MUA can’t be without?

My bases (moisturizers & primers), my foundations and powders.

Q. Is there one stand out makeup product that you can’t imagine not being invented?

Makeup bases, they make all the difference to how makeup looks and lasts.

Q. If you’re on a night out with only a clutch or small purse, what makeup items would you pop in?

Blot papers, the best for keeping a shiny nose at bay.

Q. From the collection of By Joy Adenuga Brushes, are there any specific brushes that your clients request you always use on them?

The Big Mama! It’s very soft and feels amazing on the skin.

Q. Of all your brushes, is there a single brush that you are most proud of, and if so, why?

Booked and Busy. A multi-purpose brush that can be used for either liquid, cream or powder because of the high-grade bristles.

Q. What advice would you offer a fresh new young MUA, something that you didn’t know when you first started out?

Once you decide on a name for your business – Trademark it. I’ve lost count of how many artists that become household names and realise they can’t use their names.
