One of our fave things to hashtag at House of Coco is #foodie, we love getting inspiration on what to cook or where to eat. And now foodie fans are in for a real treat this Friday 14 August 2015 as the stylish Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge, Surrey, is serving up a very special event – ‘An Evening with Gregg Wallace’.
The renowned MasterChef host and TV personality will join guests for an evening of culinary delights from the double AA Rosette awarded ‘1907 Restaurant, Bar & Grill’ team. A special menu has been designed for the occasion, which Gregg will introduce and discuss, as well as personally greet and converse with guests throughout the evening. The evening will also see Gregg host a fun quiz, answer questions from guests and take part in photo opportunities.
Gregg Wallace is a TV host, media personality, writer and former greengrocer, best known for co-presenting MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and MasterChef: The Professionals on the BBC.
Gregg began his foodie career in Covent Garden Fruit and Veg Market, which led to him to start a greengrocers company that built up to a turnover of £7.5 million. Based on his business success, he was invited to co-present Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 and later offered a presenting job on Saturday Kitchen on BBC One. His other TV projects include Eat Well for Less, Turn back Time, Harvest, Supermarket Secrets and Strictly Come Dancing. Gregg’s autobiography, Life on a Plate was published in 2012.
This short tour is the first time that Gregg has hosted ‘An Evening with Gregg Wallace’, and Brooklands Hotel is currently the only place in Surrey to wine and dine with him. The other places he will visit are all in Kent.
At ‘An Evening with Gregg Wallace’ guests will be welcomed by the man himself, together with a glass of Prosecco. Once seated for the four-course dinner, Gregg will announce and discuss each delectable dish as it arrives.
The starter course will be pickled Tillingbourne trout with candy & golden beets, lemon oil and summer herbs. The main event is a fillet of Surrey Farm beef with confit ox cheek croquet, truffle mash, summer squash and roasted shallots in South Downs butter & veal vinaigrette.
The dessert course will be a classic Eton Mess of summer red fruits, blueberry meringue, Loseley clotted cream and sweet biscuit. The cheese course will serve Sussex Charmer, Norbury Blue Cheese and Sussex Brie with English grapes, celery and local fruit bread. Coffee and petit fours will be served to finish.
Gregg will join diners at their tables during the dinner service, and once the meal has finished there will be a quiz and a question & answer session with Gregg.
