Boutique wine store – The Archive at The Vices York – opened its doors in September 2020 and quickly attracted widespread interest in the private shopping experiences with sommelier, co-founder and purveyor of fine wines – Daniel Curro.
Daniel treats each guest to a 45-minute personalised shopping experience where he takes time to understand the occasion customers are buying for; learn about likes and dislikes, tastes and preferences; and answer questions before providing his own expert recommendations. He then allows customers the chance to taste selected wines, introducing them to the complex flavours before helping them reach a final decision. Using the same approach and calling on his previous experience as a top chef, he also explores people’s favoured cuisine and shares suitable pairing suggestions.
Following the launch of the boutique wine store, The Archive is celebrating after becoming the first stockist in the world and the UK’s only stockist of both the Il Sigillo Aglianico del Vulture Doc (£55.00) and the Taurasi Primum Riserva (£90) fine wines.
