The Ultimate Bucket List Tour

Here at House of Coco our travel bucket list is always expanding and everyday you will catch us searching Insta for our wanderlust fix and #travelinspo. We believe that travel is the only thing you pay for that makes you richer and it’s so important to us to see the world as much as we can. So when we heard that On The Go Tours, the award-winning tour operator specialising in locally-led group tours and tailor-made holidays to worldwide destinations, has launched the ultimate bucket list tour – a round-the-world adventure to the New Seven Wonders of the World, it’s fair to say we were over the moon.

From the great Colosseum in Rome, Italy, to the Art Deco design masterpiece of Christ the Redeemer towering over Rio De Janeiro in Brazil, the tour provides travellers with the opportunity to marvel at some of the planet’s most extraordinary man-made structures.

The action-packed 25-day tour spans five continents and eight iconic cities including Cairo for the Great Pyramids, granted honorary status as the last remaining of the ancient wonders.  Departing from London in the UK, the first stop on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure is Rome –  Italy, home to the Colosseum, an ancient architectural masterpiece.  From there, travellers will embark on a mystical voyage to the Pyramids of Giza – Egypt, before proceeding to the Rose City of Petra, Jordan. After visiting the Lost City, an outstanding complex of cliff-carved entryways, tour-goers will be able to take some time to soak in the curative waters of the Dead Sea.

On day eleven, travellers arrive in India and the bustling city of Delhi spending the night here ahead of the four hour journey to Agra where the flawless beauty of the Taj Mahal awaits. Heading further east, the tour wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Great Wall of China, snaking across breathtaking wooded mountains. Still considered a modern-day engineering feat, The Great Wall is an awe-inspiring tribute to China’s ancient history.

It is a change of scenery as the journey continues to Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan city of Chichan Itza and its mystical temples and step pyramid. Up next, fly down to the beautiful city of Cuzco, a Peruvian treasure littered with Inca monuments and colonial buildings. The tour here includes a scenic train ride across the Andes Mountains to the Inca wonder of Machu Picchu.

The final stop on the wonders tour is soulful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – this year’s Olympic host and home of the iconic Christ the Redeemer, a 30 metre-tall figure that sits atop the Corcovado Mountain at an altitude of 700 metres. As the tour comes to an end there is free time for independent exploration of the city’s vibrant local history and art, and downtime on Rio’s legendary beaches.
