I have always loved the classic, timeless look, and my goal was to create elegant swimwear pieces that embody that aesthetic. When I started Beige Swimwear, my main inspiration was to share my passion for swimwear and design pieces that make women feel confident and empowered. I wanted to create swimsuits that truly celebrate femininity and stand the test of time. For me, it’s not just about making products; it’s also about bringing my love for travel and empowering women to life through thoughtful designs. The brand draws inspiration from shores and the Renaissance era, and the name Beige Swimwear pays homage to the synergy between natural, historical, and European architectural beauty.

What sets Beige Swimwear apart from other swimwear brands in the market? How do you ensure uniqueness and innovation in your designs?

We ensure uniqueness and innovation in our designs by incorporating rare fabrics like tweed, which is not commonly seen in swimwear. By finding inspiration in colors, landscapes, and natural textures, we create a balanced and distinctive signature line. Each piece aims to provide a sense of neutrality, calm, and comfort while empowering women on their boundless journey. Our hope is that Beige Swimwear establishes a strong and enduring presence in the fashion industry.

At Beige Swimwear, we prioritize sustainability in our manufacturing process. We have participated in sustainability certification programs that have given us the tools to make conscious decisions for our brand. One of the significant steps we took was collaborating with Linton Tweeds, a renowned fabric house known for their eco-friendly production methods. We carefully select fabrics made from eco-friendly and recycled yarns to minimise our ecological impact. Additionally, all our packaging is biodegradable. Sustainability is not just a trend for us; we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of creating stylish and environmentally responsible swimwear, inspiring change, and contributing to a more sustainable fashion future.

This unique approach caught the attention of top international magazines such as British Vogue, Tatler, and Conde Nast, leading to features in their summer campaigns. We have also engaged in collaborations during Miami Swim Week, working with upscale venues and influential individuals to further enhance our brand visibility. Additionally, we have fostered collaborations with female-led brands, hosting successful pop-up events that fueled our growth. We are excited to continue pursuing collaborations in the future, leveraging the power of teamwork to make a lasting impact in the fashion industry.

As a founder, what have been the most significant challenges you’ve faced in establishing and growing Beige Swimwear? How did you overcome them?

Establishing Beige Swimwear just a few months before the pandemic posed significant challenges, particularly in terms of material sourcing and production. Being based in Japan, delays in sourcing fabrics from Britain and the disruptions caused by COVID-19 added to the complexity. Despite these hurdles, I remained undeterred, using the extra time to search for high-quality fabrics. It was during this period that I had the opportunity to collaborate with Linton Tweed, a renowned fabric supplier. This partnership bolstered my motivation and determination to excel in the face of adversity. While the delay was unexpected, it allowed me to allocate my time wisely, focusing on developing launch campaign ideas and conducting thorough research. I persevered, refusing to give up and continuously working towards improving the brand until its successful launch. This experience taught me invaluable lessons, making me stronger, braver, and more knowledgeable in navigating challenges.

Beige Swimwear has a strong online presence. How has digital marketing and social media contributed to the brand’s success? What strategies have you employed to engage and expand your customer base online?

Digital marketing, especially through social media, has been instrumental in Beige Swimwear’s success. It allows us to showcase our swimwear collections, connect with our audience, and engage with our customers. Through strategic content creation, influencer collaborations, and interactive campaigns, we have been able to expand Beige Swimwear’s online reach and build a strong and engaged customer base.

Customer feedback is crucial for any brand’s growth. How do you actively listen to your customers and incorporate their feedback into your business decisions?

We highly value customer feedback and actively seek their input through social media, email, and surveys. This feedback is often used to improve our products, designs, and overall brand experience. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. As for my bucket list, I’ve always had a longing to visit the beautiful towns along Italy’s Amalfi Coast. The sun-kissed days, crystal blue skies, and coastal charm have always drawn me in. Exploring the narrow streets, savoring the local cuisine, and immersing myself in the Mediterranean while wearing a Beige Swimwear suit is something I dream of.
