Depression is a mental health condition faced by many today, but that does not mean that there is no way out. There are many different reasons for falling into depression: harassment, rape, accident, death of a loved one, and so much more.

Many doctors recommend different medicines and other products that you can find on the High Club, but not everyone is interested in the same solution. Thus for people who want to work hard on themselves and bring a change without any medication, I have collected ten different ways to avoid depression, I hope these help make a positive change in your life,

Set goals:

The question that you need to ask yourself is a straightforward one; what am I doing with my life? If the answer to this question is not satisfactory, then we have a problem. Looking at other people and praising what they have in their life is easy, but you need to make a difference in yours.

Set goals for yourself so that you can lay out a path that you need to follow. Setting goals may seem unrealistic and unachievable right now. Still, once you start working in that direction, you need to know nothing is impossible, and the only person making a difference for you will be you.

Keep changing your diet:

It is essential to consume a healthy diet that is high on nutrients. Consume a healthy diet full of fruits, meat, vegetables, dairy products, and vitamins. Eating junk food will increase feelings of anxiousness and depression.

You can consult an expert to help you with your diet plan to know what you have to eat and at what time. You can keep changing your diet so that you are not bored with one thing.

Do what you enjoy:

Life is busy, and it takes away the little things if we don’t hold them tight enough, therefore do what you enjoy. For example, if you like painting, you should paint, and if you loved dancing, you should dance. Ask yourself, what is the worst that will happen? You guessed it right.

Nothing worse will happen, and you will end up having a great time. You can ask members of your family and friends to join you so that you are not alone in whatever you are doing. Enjoying what you do will be motivating and help distract you from whatever that is on your mind.

Do something for others:

Doing something for other people can help you find happiness. When someone comes to you for help, you should consider yourself lucky, but even when they don’t, there are many ways to help and do something for others.

For example, you can join a volunteer group that does things once in a while; you can check up on friends, donate money, donate clothes, give food to people on the road, and help the homeless so much more. Assisting others fills you with a different kind of satisfaction, and you feel like you have a purpose.

Stay away from toxic people:

There are many toxic people around us that we don’t know about. A toxic person is a person who is abusive, unsupportive, and emotionally unhealthy for anyone around them. These people have negative things to say and negative things to do, and if one gets in contact with any of them, they will make sure to bring you down by pulling at one of your insecurity.

For example, you look fat in that dress or yellow is not your color; don’t wear it again. It is essential to stay away from such people and surround yourself with people who love and support you.

Never fight your emotions:

One of the worst things we can do to ourselves is when we fight our emotions. Fighting whatever you feel means you are suppressing whatever that bothers you inside yourself, which will make you feel even worse in the coming years.

Rather than fighting your emotions, it will be great if you own what you are feeling and tell yourself that it’s okay to feel this way, and this too shall pass. Feeling down, emotional, depressed, and angry does not make you weak but sturdy, so never fight what you are feeling.

It’s okay to say no:

We are brought up in a way that saying no makes us feel guilty, but this doesn’t seem right. Normalize saying no to every little thing that makes you uncomfortable. For example, say no if you don’t want to do that assignment, say no if you don’t want to go out at a party, and say no if you don’t want to go out for drinks. There is no point in feeling guilty for saying no, and you should understand this.

Get out of your comfort zone:

Get out for your comfort zone, go to that party you have always wanted to go on, ask that friend out on which you have had a crush for a long time, wear that short dress and go to the beach in a bikini.

Promise yourself to do at least two things in a month out of your comfort zone, and even if you do one, be proud of yourself. Leaving the comfort zone will make you brave and motivated to handle whatever comes your way.

Meet people:

Don’t sit in your house and isolate yourself, if you are feeling down, go out to that dinner, go out to that party, basically go wherever you are invited. Going out and meeting new people will help you take your mind off all the negative things; it will give you a break, and most of all, it will freshen you up. If you are an introvert, you can invite people to your house and have a book party, do whatever suits you.

Relax and spend time with yourself:

The connection we have with ourselves is one of the most critical and hardest connections that must be maintained. At the end of a long day, grab yourself a drink or a book, sit by the window, and treat yourself with whatever you enjoy.

Call this time ME TIME, and even if you don’t want to do anything, you can sit in silence, sip on your drink and think. Try to practice mindfulness for an even better experience.
