Spring is the perfect time to freshen up your home décor and bring in new trends. Whether you’re looking to update your living room, bedroom, or any other space, there are plenty of exciting fashions to explore this season. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at some of the big home décor trends for spring, from bold colours to natural textures.

Statement Colours

One of the biggest trends in home décor this spring is the use of statement colours. Bold and bright shades such as coral, turquoise, and emerald green are being used to add a pop of colour to any space. These colours can be used on walls, furniture, or accessories to create a bold and vibrant look. The key is to keep the rest of the space neutral to allow the statement colour to shine.

Natural Materials

Natural materials are also a big trend this season. From jute to rattan to bamboo, these materials add warmth and texture to any space. You can incorporate them through furniture, rugs, or décor accessories such as baskets or lamps. They also pair well with statement colours to create a fresh and modern look.

Sustainable Décor

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in home décor. This spring, look for eco-friendly furniture and décor accessories made from sustainable materials such as reclaimed wood or recycled glass. These pieces not only look great, but they also help reduce our impact on the environment.

Bold Prints

Bold prints are a great way to add some personality to your home. From floral to geometric to animal prints, there are plenty of options to choose from. Try to just choose one or two prints and use them sparingly throughout the home. This will prevent the space from feeling too busy or overwhelming.

Outdoor-Inspired Décor

As the weather warms up, many people are looking to bring some of the outdoors inside. This trend is all about incorporating natural elements such as plants, flowers, and earthy tones into your home. You can also include outdoor-inspired elements such as wicker furniture or woven rugs.

Textured Walls

Textured walls are another style that’s gaining popularity this year. From textured wallpaper to decorative panels, these walls add depth and dimension to any room. They’re a great way to create a focal point or add some interest to a plain wall.

Fixtures

There are some essentials in our home décor — things like our internal doors and windows, that perhaps we don’t pay as much attention to as we should. New internal doors and something as simple as deep cleaning your window frames and painting the sills can completely transform your rooms.

If you are looking to make a bigger change, adding internal doors with glass instead of solid options can be a great way to brighten a space and make your rooms feel larger. Glazed internal doors can look fantastic between rooms like your lounge and kitchen, and adding internal glazed doors will give your home a more modern feel.

There are many exciting home décor trends to explore this spring. Whether you’re looking to incorporate bold colours, natural materials, or playful retro styles, there’s something for everyone. And with the growing focus on sustainability and artisanal décor, it’s easier than ever to make your home look great while supporting ethical and eco-friendly practices.

The Powerball lottery is a popular American lottery game that has been around since 1992. The game involves choosing five white balls from a pool of 69 and one red balls from a pool of 26, with the jackpot being awarded to those who correctly match all six numbers.

In recent years, you can play lotto powerball online. The online version of the game offers the same exciting gameplay and the chance to win big prizes, all while avoiding the hassle of waiting in line at a physical lottery retailer.

While winning the Powerball jackpot is the ultimate goal, it is important to remember that playing the lottery should also be a fun and enjoyable experience. By following a few simple tips, players can enhance their gameplay and increase their chances of having a positive experience, whether they win or lose. In this article, we will share some helpful tips for making the online Powerball lottery an enjoyable experience.

Understand the Rules of the Game

Before starting to play the online Powerball lottery, understand the basic rules and guidelines of the game. As previously mentioned, players must choose five numbers from a pool of 69 and one number from a pool of 26. Players need to match all six numbers to secure the jackpot prize. However, there are also other prize tiers available for players who match fewer numbers.

It is also essential to note that players have the option to add a Power Play multiplier to their ticket, which can increase the value of their non-jackpot prizes.

One common mistake that players make when playing the Powerball lottery is not understanding the odds of winning. While the potential jackpot prizes are certainly enticing, the odds of winning are very low. Keep this in mind and do not spend more money than you can afford to lose.

Another mistake is not double-checking your numbers before submitting your ticket. Make sure to verify that you have chosen the correct numbers before finalizing your purchase. Additionally,  keep track of your tickets and claim any winnings promptly to avoid missing out on any prizes.

Set a Budget and Stick to It

One of the most important aspects of playing the online Powerball lottery is setting a budget and sticking to it. Gambling can be addictive, and it is easy to get caught up in the excitement and overspend. Setting a budget can help you avoid overspending and ensure that you are only spending what you can afford to lose.

There are several strategies you can use to manage your spending when playing the online Powerball lottery. One effective approach is to decide on a set amount of money that you are comfortable spending on lottery tickets each week or month, and then stick to that amount.

Another strategy is to only play when the jackpot reaches a certain amount, such as $50 million or $100 million. This can help you avoid playing too frequently and spending too much money.

You may also want to consider joining a lottery pool with friends or coworkers, which can help you split the cost of tickets and increase your chances of winning without overspending.

Use Statistics to Your Advantage

Analyze past winning numbers. It can provide valuable insights into the Powerball lottery and help you make more informed decisions. By examining the frequency of each number and the patterns that emerge, you can identify which numbers are most commonly drawn and adjust your number selection accordingly.

For example, you may notice that certain numbers appear more frequently than others, or that certain number combinations are more common than others. You can then use this information to choose your own numbers or to select a Quick Pick ticket with numbers that have historically been drawn more often.

There are many online tools available to help you analyze past winning numbers and make informed decisions when playing the Powerball lottery. These tools can provide detailed statistics on which numbers have been drawn most frequently, which numbers are due to be drawn, and which numbers have not been drawn in a while.

Stay Positive

When it comes to playing the online Powerball lottery, maintain a positive attitude, regardless of whether you win or lose. Negativity and frustration can quickly ruin the experience and make it less enjoyable. Furthermore, maintaining a positive attitude can help you stay motivated and increase your chances of winning in the long run.

There are several strategies you can use to maintain a positive mindset when playing the online Powerball lottery. One approach is to focus on the fun and excitement of the game, rather than solely on winning. This can help you enjoy the experience even if you don’t win the jackpot.

Another strategy is to avoid comparing yourself to others or feeling envious of their winnings. Remember that everyone’s journey is different, and there is no guarantee that anyone will win the jackpot.

Finally, it can be helpful to take breaks from playing and focus on other activities that bring you joy and happiness. This can help you stay balanced and avoid becoming overly consumed with the lottery.

Final thoughts

The online Powerball lottery can be an entertaining experience, but it is good to approach it responsibly and with a positive attitude. Remember that winning is never guaranteed and that it is essential to only spend what you can afford to lose. By following the tips outlined in this guide, you can enhance your gameplay and ensure that your online Powerball lottery experience is enjoyable and rewarding.

The Hare & Hounds, Newbury is leading the way in the high-end ‘pubs with rooms’ trend. After months of careful restoration, this beautiful Georgian coaching inn now boasts a cosy traditional pub, dining space serving delicious seasonal fare and 30 characterful rooms donned with aged timber, exposed beams, racing-themed fabrics (due to the proximity of the year-round racing at Newbury Racecourse), some with roll-top copper bathtubs, as well as a covered garden terrace which is perfect for the warmer months.

The Hare & Hounds is set at the foot of Newbury in the pretty village of Speen in West Berkshire. The pub is steeped in history from the nearby horse racing community and lies within striking distance of Donnington and Highclere Castle (the filming location of Downton Abbey). The property follows the launch of Wild Thyme & Honey in Ampney Crucis in the Cotswolds. Both pubs are owned and managed by Myers and Ramsey and is the fourth property to join the group.

FOOD AND DRINK

The bar area is the perfect mix of newly restored sophistication and historic pub, with the relaxed & familiar service found in a country watering hole that is also impeccable and slick, just what you would expect at a boutique hotel.

After a long sunny country walk, we bundled into the warm entrance and into the bar with dogs sleeping in their baskets around the fire. I sipped on a Highclere Martini (named after the famous filming location nearby) and my travelling companion had a local ale. Next door is the Barn Dining Room with soaring ceilings and exposed beams; we meandered our way in after a few more cocktails, along the beautifully decorated corridors. To our delight, come dinner time, the restaurant was full to the brim with locals and guests alike.

The bright and airy dining space offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week; guests can expect seasonal menus as well as classic yet upmarket pub fare. We indulged on the Sussex Charmer cheese souffle which was as decadent as it was delicious followed by the luxury fish pie with lobster and Cornish crab cream sauce and the braised venison hot pot. This was frankly one of the best pub meals I have ever eaten. Considering it was nearing 10pm and other diners were still ordering wine, dessert and also laughing and clinking glasses, the feeling was universal.

The Hare & Hounds also offers two private dining rooms, which would be ideal for a special celebration.

ROOMS

The equine theme is reflected throughout; we stayed in the Bridle Suite in the Hunter’s Lodge, one of the surrounding buildings. There are also rooms in The Stables (formally a working stables) and The Paddocks. The Hunter’s Lodge is set slightly away from the beating heart of the property with the dining room and bar area.

The Bridle Suite includes a cosy living area with historic, low ceilings, a spacious ensuite bathroom and of course, a fabulous roll-top copper bath next to the grand bed flanked with antler artworks, where one can truly feeling like Lady Mary. There is a small built-in bar and complimentary sloe gin, perfect for an arrival tipple. The suite can also interconnect with Tally Ho in the Hunter’s Lodge, for larger groups.

END NOTE

The Hare and Hounds is a unique proposition. Gone are the days where the UK staycation involved packing the car and hunkering down in a bolthole miles from anywhere and miles from a decent meal and wine list. The British Isles are vast and guests at The Hare & Hounds treat the space much like a traditional coaching inn, a restful and well connected stop along the way but also now, a destination in it’s own right.

This spring, I cannot wait to return with my loved ones and try the sirloin of British Beef roast with ‘lashings of gravy’ and a gorgeously turned out Bloody Mary, followed by a trip to Highclere Castle. Homemade horseradish cream alongside, anyone?

The data comes from a study conducted by Mintel, who have found that families in 2022 eat together only 68% of the time, which is a marked decrease from the 78% of families who would eat together in 2016. To some families, the idea of shared mealtimes is antiquated, and it simply does suit their lifestyles, but to others, shared mealtimes remain an important element of family life, allowing the family to bond and spend time together regularly. Let’s take a look at the reasons behind this trend.

Lifestyle Changes

Traditionally, there were fewer demands on families. Within the ‘classic’ idea of a nuclear family, the father would be the breadwinner and the provider, the mother would stay home and perform all domestic labour, and the children would go to school, come home and often go out to play with their friends. However, today, both parents tend to work, there are also a number of activities and clubs for children too. This has made it a lot harder for families to carve out the time to eat together. Often, they simply have to grab a bite when they can between all of their other responsibilities.

In addition to that, there are still a few lasting effects from the pandemic, even as we pass the three-year anniversary. The pandemic meant significant changes to people’s schedules, their work habits and daily routines, which has also affected their approaches to mealtimes. Some families have ended up with a much more casual approach whereby everybody eats in the living room in front of the TV.

Dietary Requirements

Another reason why families have stopped eating together as much is simply because they aren’t eating the same meals. There has been an increase in families preparing separate dishes for the children either because of allergies, dietary restrictions or simply differing tastes. This would mean that in order to eat together, the parent preparing the dinner would need to prepare multiple different dishes at once, which is often a big undertaking and not ideal. This then means that the children are fed, and then the parents will eat later.

Date Night

For some parents, separate mealtimes is a conscious and deliberate decision. The parents choose to feed their children separately, earlier in the evening; this is especially the case for young children, who are then bathed and put to bed. This then allows the parents to eat their meal together without – or perhaps more realistically with minimal – disruptions. A lot of parents view these meals together as an opportunity to connect with their partner and fortify their relationship. Making time for each other is important in a relationship.

Designing Your Home with Mealtimes in Mind

Regardless of whether your family eats every meal together or they only do so on special occasions, it still makes sense to consider the design of your home and whether it is optimised for these possibilities or not. The traditional idea of a dining space might not work for your family, and that is totally okay. Your home obviously needs to be designed with your family’s needs in mind, so remember to consider your family dynamic when looking into interior design choices for your home.

If you prefer to eat in the living room while watching the telly, then it might make sense to consider purchasing a coffee table which would allow you to eat more comfortably. You could also consider lap trays if you prefer to eat with your plate on your lap as opposed to leaning over a coffee table. You might be able to find a convertible coffee table; there are models with adjustable tops allowing you to bring the table closer to you.

If you want the option to eat together occasionally, or if your family still likes to eat at a table albeit at separate times, then it is worth looking for dining tables for your space like the ones available from Furniture Village. It might be worth opting for a smaller table that fits the space well, or if you would like to eat together occasionally, then it might be worth going for an adjustable dining table that is small enough for the space but provides you with the option to elongate the table when needed to ensure that the whole family can fit.

In Conclusion

Spending time together as a family is incredibly important; it can impact your and your family’s mental health and even the development of your children too. However, the way in which you choose to spend time with your family is entirely up to you. Perhaps you simply are not the type of family that eats meals together, which is perfectly okay. You might prefer to do activities together instead. Obviously, your family still needs to eat, and it does make sense to ensure that your home is designed with the needs of your family in mind. You don’t need to follow trends or conform to norms if your family doesn’t fit within them.

Named after a fictional character, Lucy Wong has the feel of a movie set. Descending stairs just off Oxford Street you will be transported to 1950s Hong Kong for an evening of decadence and clandestine conversations in hushed tones…

Step into the world of Lucy Wong where the lights are dim, the bar sparkles and the interior design will have you reaching for Pinterest. The cocktail menu embraces the classics and put them in context of this glamourous world. Signature cocktails are created by mixologist Dre Masso using inventive spirit brands, bringing you Asian twists on Old Fashioneds, Manhattans and Sours.

The menu is very spirit forward – no copping out with a fruity drink with a sparkler in here – but they also offer two exquisite alcohol-free cocktails with the same amount of love and creativity as their boozy counterparts. The bar also offers a large Chinese Tea menu meaning plenty of options for your evening visit.

We often lament that our favourite drinking spots don’t have enough sustenance to keep you entertained the whole evening but Lucy Wong’s Dim Sum, snacks and roasted meats menu puts paid to that. We opted for the Dim Sum sharing basket of pork, prawn, truffle and vegetable dumplings with a side of Signature Fried Rice and wickedly flavoured Garlic Shoots. With delicious food at the table our 2 drink Monday night catch up easily slid into a 3 cocktail evening so do be warned that Lucy Wong and its delightful staff have a way of making you stay.

Hidden just around the back of Tottenham Court Road is the perfect lunchtime escape that will whisk you away to European patio dining – Dalloway Terrace at The Bloomsbury Hotel. We visited on a weekday lunch enjoying the relaxed atmosphere with top tier service…

The covered patio is decorated seasonally, and we caught the end of their winter décor – all snow dusted conifers with silver accents. This spot is immensely instagrammable but we beg you to put away your phones and just enjoy the experience.

As we were feeling continental, we ordered a couple of light cocktails for lunch and the refreshing globe of gin and tonic was just what I needed after a busy morning of city centre meetings. We opted for the fresh vegetarian salad bowl with deliciously grilled chicken and a creamy gnocchi dish, both supremely tasty and good value. While we were in a luxury hotel this isn’t too excessive a casual lunch spot and will definitely impress your dining companion.

Looking around the terrace we saw a mix of business meetings, couples lunching and a family enjoying the terrace’s delightful Afternoon Tea. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, making it perfect for any one of those activities. We’ll just have to come back with those different hats on another day. Peeling ourselves away from this oasis we manage to avoid getting drawn into the neighbouring Coral Room for more cocktails and find ourselves back on the busy streets of London feeling like we’ve just had a mini-break.

Even though the holidays are a fun and great time of year, they can be expensive. Festive clothes, expensive gifts, holiday decorations, and large family feasts can add up to a significant overspending. But there’s no need to get discouraged. The purpose of the holidays is to make people feel happy and loved, after all, with enough give to go around. Additionally, we have prepared some advice if you find yourself in financial trouble following the holidays.

You probably went a little over budget for the holidays between the pricey presents, festive light-up sweaters, and expensive dinner parties. But that doesn’t mean you should start to freak out. Staying positive and having the objective in mind will be very crucial as it often seems like everyone has gone off the wagon. You can even claim a Vulkan casino bonus to bankroll your account. Here are five strategies to accomplish that and bring your spending under control.

Organize Your Finances

Checking your bills and comparing your credit card debt to regular expenses like rent, a mortgage, and utilities should be your first step. Make sure you are paying at least the minimum amount required and possibly the full amount. Your financial situation will become more bearable the sooner you pay off your post-holiday credit card debt.

You must make sure that your income and expenses are balanced now that you are aware of both. Compare the spending you totalled over the previous three months with your three most recent pay periods. Do you feel like your spending is getting out of hand? If so, getting your expenditure to match or be less than your income should be your main goal. Since those additional monies must originate from someplace, it’s feasible that they won’t continue to flow indefinitely.

Avoid Increasing Your Expenses

Once you’ve heeded our first bit of advice, put the credit card away! At all costs, avoid adding to your spending by making additional purchases. Work on your balances and repay your debt by paying more than the bare minimum due. When you check your credit card account in the spring, you should feel at rest!

To lower your monthly spending now that the holiday season is over, start by carefully reviewing each of your expense categories. Could you organize your meals better and eat out less? If you can’t reduce these costs but still need to reduce your expenditure, rank the categories according to priority, start by reducing the cost of the category that is least important, and work your way up. But refrain from removing a whole category.

Set a Spending Limit

We’re not going to pretend to be naive; just because the holidays are over, your spending won’t cease. Setting a limit on the purchases you do make is doable, even though it would be impossible to halt all spending. Keep to your spending plan, grant yourself a modest allowance, and monitor your needed payments. You won’t have to worry about counting pennies after the holidays because of this!

Maintaining a budget is challenging. You experience horrible spending during the holidays, become dejected, and give up. Or you may believe that keeping your budget in your head is sufficient. Although it might be for you, most individuals don’t experience it that way.

A budget, in actuality, aids in achieving your objectives. There are several things to pay attention to achieve this. Some of these are sleeping on big purchases, never spending more than you have etc.

Avoid Skipping Any “Returns Windows”

Despite the fact that it may seem absurd, pay attention to this advice! If you have gifts to exchange or return, the heavy Christmas shopping crowds and fatigue may deter you from returning to the store. Be mindful of your return window to prevent getting stuck with any products you may have purchased or received that need to be returned.

Store return policies are there to shield you in case you change your mind about a purchase. Shopping done during the holidays, when you frequently make decisions based solely on descriptions and photographs, is significantly less risky when you have the opportunity to return items for a full refund.

Follow Your Plan

Although the advice above is really helpful, it won’t do you any good if you don’t heed it. Whether you need to implement all of our suggestions or just one, make sure to do so until your financial situation has improved. Once you can breathe easily and once more, you can get back in the water and spend a little money wisely.

For a variety of reasons, sticking to a plan might be challenging, but many of them boil down to having realistic expectations and changing one’s perspective to prioritize long-term objectives above short-term desires. These aren’t just challenges to get over; by putting in the effort, you can experience great improvement.

Conclusion

The cost of the holidays doesn’t go down with time, and the Waldo State Bank staff knows firsthand how vital it is to see loved ones open amazing presents while you’re celebrating! However, you shouldn’t be depressed following the holidays.

We know some of you have got packing down to a fine art – thanks budget airlines with big bucks add ons for luggage that taught us all to be more packing savvy in a hurry!

Toyota and UNDERCOVER have teamed up to create a limited edition model that showcases the best of both brands. The Aygo X UNDERCOVER made its debut at the Paris Fashion Week in conjunction with the UNDERCOVER Fall 2023 catwalk show and House of Coco’s Editor in Chief, Laura Bartlett, was on the guest list.

The Aygo X UNDERCOVER is a city car that has been reimagined by Jun Takahashi, the head designer of UNDERCOVER. Takahashi’s creative philosophies of non-conformity and breaking stereotypes inspired the design updates, which include a bi-tone grey body colour developed specifically by Toyota, coral red accents around the cabin, and black 18-inch alloy wheels. The branded seats, monogram-patterned floor mats are all examples of the UNDERCOVER influence on the design. A collaboration that we are so here for!

Takahashi said that this was his first experience working on a car, and with Toyota being such a prestigious and innovative Japanese brand, it came with deep emotional meaning and significance. He was excited about fusing together two contradicting worlds and creating a design that is still very much UNDERCOVER while working in harmony with Toyota. Takahashi recognised the significance of colour and how it can impact a person’s driving experience.

Aygo has been Toyota’s most accessible car since the original model was launched in 2005, and it has attracted many new style-conscious buyers to the brand with its youthful and fun character. The on-the-road price for the Aygo X is £20,095 with manual transmissions, we’ll take two.

During our interview with Tadao Mori, Toyota Motor Europe’s Head of Styling Design, prior to the launch party at Sofitel Le Faubourg, he expressed his pride in the Aygo X UNDERCOVER, stating that “Fashion design and car design have a lot in common, but Jun introduced us to completely new ways of looking at colour and ideas for how to make more of everyday details to create something more interesting and unexpected,” he said.

The Aygo X UNDERCOVER is an example of two innovative brands coming together to create a unique and striking product that showcases their respective strengths and they wrapped up their successful car launch day with an exciting after-party held at The Bridge Club. The event provided attendees with a first glimpse of the collaborative effort between the two companies.

It was a grand finale to a remarkable day, celebrating the debut of the unique Aygo X UNDERCOVER, which combines the best of Toyota’s urban design with UNDERCOVER’s rebellious spirit. Tadao Mori, Toyota Motor Europe’s Head of Styling Design, expressed his pride in the new car, noting that “it’s a playful blend of urban design with a touch of punk, evident in the colour scheme and use of diverse materials.”
